Graham Balch receives 2009 Outstanding Atlanta Award

ATLANTA – Democratic State Senate candidate Graham Balch was named a recipient of the 2009 Outstanding Atlanta award for community involvement on November 6th.

For over four decades, Outstanding Atlanta and its honorees have demonstrated the qualities of outstanding leadership. Past winners include State Senator Kasim Reed, Monica (Kaufman) Pearson of WSB news, City Council Representative Ceasar Mitchell and Ann Cramer of IBM.

Balch commented “I am grateful to be selected alongside a dedicated group of men and women who are working to make Atlanta a world class city through community service.”

Graham Balch, an Atlanta native, is an award-winning biology teacher at Grady High School in the Atlanta Public Schools. Balch served in the Peace Corps and was the CEO of a small company, before becoming a teacher. Balch is currently an elected post seat holder with the Fulton County Democratic Party and has served on his neighborhood board and on NPU-E. He is married to Simone and has a daughter, Sierra.
