2010 Election Important Dates

December 23, 2009 Earliest day that a voter may request an absentee ballot for the 2010 Democratic Primary
April 26, 2010 Earliest day for a candidate to file a Notice of Candidacy to have his/her name placed on the Ballot.
April 30, 2010 Last day for a candidate to file a Notice of Candidacy to have   his/her name placed on the Ballot
June 7, 2010 Early voting begins for the Democratic Primary Election
June 21, 2010 Last day a person may register and be eligible to vote in the Democratic Primary Election and Runoff.
July 15, 2010 Last day an absentee ballot can be mailed and have it safely arrive in time to be counted
July 20, 2010 2010 Democratic Primary
August 10, 2010 2010 Democratic Primary runoff (if necessary)

Voter Registration

If you are not registered to vote, you can follow the instructions here to register to vote

Voter Qualifications - to vote in the state of Georgia, you must be:

    * A citizen of the United States
    * A legal resident of Georgia and of the county in which you wish to vote
    * At least 18 years of age by election day
    * Not currently serving any sentence (including probation) imposed by the conviction of a felony
    * Not judicially determined to be mentally incompetent

Absentee Ballot Voting

To vote by absentee ballot, each voter needs to request an absentee ballot in writing. No reason is required to request an absentee ballot and no photo ID is required

Download and print an absentee ballot application

To request a ballot for the 2010 Democratic Primary please write July 20, 2010 for the date of the primary, election or runoff and make sure you select the Democratic primary.

In order for your absentee ballot request to be processed, it must be filled out correctly and signed.

After filling out your absentee ballot application, put it an envelope, affix postage and mail it here:
